I think you want to prevent non-contacts from messaging you. To do
that, do these things:
- Alt+T for the Tools menu.
- O for Options.
- Arrow down about four times to Privacy Settings.
- Tab once for the radio buttons that set who can call you, and use arrows to
set as you like.
- Do the same for the other settings, including IMs.
The options are different for different Skype versions. In the latest
Skype 4.0 release, you go from calls to incoming phone calls to video
and then to IMs. I don't remember how things are ordered in Skype 3.
Be sure to hit the Save button when done changing options. Enter
alone tends not to be enough.
