Sighted people are notified of missed events in Skype 4 via the
Conversation list, where any conversation with unread content is shown
with an icon indicating it contains something new. I made JAWS say
"new" before such a conversation as you arrow through ythe
Conversation list, so you can find new material that way. The "new
conversation" number in the title bar is the best we have for a
"missed events" counter now. It really is not an event counter
though, but a counter of conversations with new content.

So for example, if I send you a chat line and a file, and Bob calls
you, and then you come back to your PC, your Skype title bar will say
"2," because there are two conversations with new content. Arrowing
through the conversation list will say "new" in front of my
conversation and in front of Bob's. You can hear something abouut
what is new in each one as you arrow as well. But you'll have to open
the conversations to find out what and how many new things are there
in each one. That is true for sighted people as well I believe.
