[Skypeenglish] hot keys

Hi Everyone: on the new skype, could anyone tell me what's the trick to 
getting the Hot keys to work. I just don't seem to be able to use them. 
First of all, Enable keyboard shortcuts is checked. However, it will not let 
me either change or check any of the options. Thanks!
