It'd be nice, but you can't always have everything. Yeah I never go with out my 3 way splitter. They are handy to carry around.

But as I said, you can't run an input and out put device off the same audio jack. If this were true, a mic/headphone combo would only have a single plug. Clearly this is not the case.
