Hope debate closes as all I wish to comment on is that all systems have
their own preferred set up including various versions of aplications so I
always stick to personal settings if configurable each to their own.

While I personally prefer Skype 4.1 under Windows 7, I know friends who

using 3.8 very successfully under Windows 7 despite the compatibility
warnings. So no matter what Skype you prefer, it should work for you under
this OS.
