Hi all,
I solved my issue of skype hanging up after just a few seconds. I was trying to help a friend with the same issue today.
He is using XP but when he goes to his C drive, the application data/user name etc can not be seen under documents and settings. I ran in to this many years ago but didn't write down what we did to fix this. My memory is that it is a windows setting problem.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thank you!
Larry Gassman

Hi,
I pointed out a procedure some time ago but you probably didn't see it or had some troubles while reading it. However, do the following:
1. quit completely Skype;
2. go to your Skype\user folder. I.E. If you have Larry Gassman as your Windows login name and larry.gassman as your Skype id, the complete location is: C:\Documents and Settings\Larry Gassman\Application data\Skype\larry.gassman;
3. delete the files config.lck and config.xml;
4. open Skype and remake all the configuration you need, including accessibility settings, Compact view if needed, notification settings, keystrokes, etc.
Hth.
