no this is a Skype 4.2 issue. Skype 4.1 went to the tray just fine and was
not in the task list once the window was closed. this is not a windows 7
issue.

What I didn't understand since I don't use windows 7 myself is if this is

behaviour introduced in windows 7 that skype hasn't got anything to do

it or if it is just a mistake from skype's part.
This is just an idea. If you right click the taskbar icon do you have any
option to remove skype from there?
Since I never used windows 7 I am only guessing.

The thing with Skype 4.2 is that it minimizes to the taskbar rather than

notification area. Sorry for the earlier aronious information. I knew
