Being the author of the so-called "Doug Lee scripts," (<grin>), here's my position on this threesome of possibilities:
Use the scripts if you are using JAWS and want Alt+numbers and/or alt+arrows to manage chats. Btw, Hrvoje, suggestion: Implement arrows/home/end like I did for moving through any number of chats, and to first and last; and if possible, a way of handling links. Use SkypeTalking if you want notification of events like sign-ins, or if you don't use JAWS, or if you prefer its way of handling chats. Use both if you like, but pick one method of handling chats and stick to that. Don't use SkypeWatch anymore, unless you really want to and use an old enough Skype for it to work well. And just for fun, I'll throw in the unmentioned fourth option: Use Clisk, the Command Line Interface for Skype, if you really like command lines, which usually means you've been using computers for over 20 years. :) One final note: This bunch of choices is not really a dilemma, it's just a bunch of choices, rather like you get when buying headsets, or choosing chat programs, or buying laptops, etc... confusing, yes, but the essence of freedom.
