Hi Gena,
You're right; there are no stupid questions. smile Actually I gave
some bad directions. You dont need to select a number with control
shift and an arrow key, but rather use the arrow keys to move to a
number. So if a webpage has the number
555-555-5555, if you move so that you're on top of one of the fives,
and press enter, you'll activate the number.
As far as I know, all numbers work for this. However, you do need to
have a subscription or skype credit to call them, as you are not
calling another person whose on Skype. If you were, it would be free.
I've modified my instructions below. Hopefully they make more sense
and work now.
1. Hit insert f8 for the toolbar.
2. On the skype add-on for internet explorer, press enter.
3. a list will appear with options. Press down arrow once to get to
skype add-on for Internet Explorer, and press enter.
4. This should open a dialog (still with the jaws cursor) with some
options that you can read with the arrow keys. I don't recall if
there's much to change, but any changes can be made with the left
mouse button. I believe it's just asking if you want name and number
highlighting on, but these are just visual appearance changes and
won't affect your ability to make calls.
5. When you find a number you want to call on a webpage, run skype,
move the cursor with the arrow keys to rest over the number you want
to call, and press enter.
6. The first time you do this, a normal dialog (I.E. one the pc cursor
can read) appears asking if you want to complete the call. You can
elect not to see this message again by activating the necessary
checkbox.
7. Whether or not you checked the "do not ask me again" checkbox, you
can activate the call by pressing enter or the spacebar on the ok
button.
