Hello Yvonne, if you open the Skype main window and then go to tools and then options, and then go down to hotkeys. You will find an option there that will allow you to set a hotkey for muting the microphone. Simply select a hotkey of your choice and save the settings. If you are a SkypeTalking user. There is a hotkey to perform this function as well and you can configure it to your liking from the SkypeTalking preferences dialog. Under hotkeys. Hope this helps.
