Kathy,
first of all, do not confuse between SkypeWatch, SkypeWatch installer and
SkypeTalking; first and third are actually doing similar things though in
different ways.
Hope to be the simplest, the situation is as follows.
SkypeWatch is a part of JAWS scripts for Skype provided by Doug Lee, which
is not installed automatically when installing the scripts. It can tell you
who comes online and goes offline, as well as the callers name, mainly by
revealing the system tray notifications which come up in such cases. The
point is that the procedure for SkypeWatch installation is a bit
complicated-looking and maybe not usable by every user, and so Hrvoje Katic
from Croatia created the SkypeWatch installer which automatizes this
procedure.
Same Hrvoje created also an other utility called SkypeTalking, which instead
uses the Skype API and that's why it needs to be autorizated in
communicating with Skype. This has nothing to do with JAWS scripts, though
it supports also JFW as well as NVDA, System access (including SaToGo) and
Window-Eyes. I do not remember if there are other screen readers supported,
so please someone add them if there are.
