Hi Allison,
the Skype me status has been removed since Skype 4.0 or so, though you can
use Xenofilia to activate it. Download this software here:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4752212/Xenofilia.exe
Launche the executable, click via JAWS cursor on the SkypeMe button, and
authorize it to communicate with Skype if it's the first run.
That's it!
