Officially SkypeMe mode is obsolete, indeed. But the Skype API, which is a mechanism used by various applications like Clisk and SkypeTalking to communicate with Skype, still allows it. So if you want to use SkypeMe mode in Skype 5, you have to use an application with Skype that can still set that mode for you. Clisk and SkypeTalking can both do that. Clisk is a command-line interface to Skype and thus is not the best answer for most Windows users who are accustomed to graphical interfaces. SkypeTalking has a more traditional interface, but I'll have to let others address how to use that utility.
