Hi! I'm using Skype 5.3 on a 64-bit Windows 7 computer with NVDA and SkypeTalking, and no scripts, obviously, and I have the same problem, namely that all the checkboxes in the sound settings in the Skype options show up as unchecked, whatever I do with them. I had to set up my Skype sounds by trial and error, since I couldn't tell which checkboxes were checked and which weren't. Interestingly, the checkboxes elsewhere in the Skype options show up as checked and unchecked in the normal way here. I was wondering, Jim, are you using the JAWS scripts for Skype? I haven't used JAWS at all with Skype on my Windows 7 computer, but, from my past experience with Windows XP, JAWS 10 and the scripts, those scripts read the checkboxes correctly. It's possible that JAWS won't read those correctly without the JAWS scripts installed, so, since you are using JAWS, Jim, I suggest you install the scripts if you haven't done so already. Sorry if this wasn't much help, but at least I have a theory as to why you couldn't read the checkboxes in the sound options properly! Bye for now, and happy skyping! >From Clare
