Oops! I gave the wrong setting. The "Keep Skype in the task bar" check box
is found under Tools/Options/Advanced Settings. Sorry about that.

Hi Michael and list. I'm not sure how to get around the problem of
letting Skype know that there is a screen reader running, but some list
members have had that problem before and I'm sure someone will be able to
help you.
As for not being able to minimize Skype to the system tray, here's what
you do:
Open Skype, then go to Tools/Options/General. Find the check box that
reads: "Keep Skype in the task bar while I'm signed in", uncheck it by
pressing the space bar, then press Tab till you get to the Save button,
and save your settings.

Hello Listers,
Every time I load skype on my windows 7 laptop, it crashes. I get the
following skype doesn't know that there is a screen reader loaded etc.
So then I unload and load jaws 11 but this apparently is no good.
Because when making a test call I don't have any sound. by this I mean no
connecting call sounds Also I can't minimmize skype to the system tray.
Can someone please help?
