We in the USA are anywhere from 5 hours (New York) to 8 hours (California) behind Greenwich time. Since the individual is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich time, this means there is up to a 10 hour discrepancy between South Africa and California and a 7 hour difference in the east coast. Take your current time and simply add either 10 hours (west coast) or 7 hours (east coast) to your current time to figure out Gavin's current time.
