Hi all,

I sent the following in a message to the British Computer
Association of the Blind discussion list, but haven't had a
reply from that list as yet, so am sending a message to this
list to see if anyone can advise me of a solution to a
problem.

I'm running XP Pro. I have Jaws versions 10, 12 and 13 on
this HP desktop, along with Magic version 11.

I'm trying to get a set of headphones which contains a boom
microphone, to work with the set-up mentioned above and the
latest version of skype.

Because the Microphone wasn't picking up my voice when I did
a skype test call, I decided to purchase an external
soundcard which I have connected to my PC via a USB hub. I
have then plugged the microphone and headphone jacks in to
the wholes on the external soundcard.

My Pc can see the external soundcard, and I've tried to set
the various recording related sliders in the control panel,
to 50 or higher, but I'm getting nothing but a hissing sound
from the skype test call service at the point where I should
be hearing my voice coming back to me.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions as to which
settings I need to modify.
