Hello Claire, I agree with your below sentiments. you will also note that if you read further in this conversation thread, I did post a workaround that I was able to find for nonvisual desktop access 2013.2. I also firmly believe that Skype should provide this information to Microsoft Active Accessibility. If they did so this problem would not exist for any screen reader users. That being said, as far as I know at this point there are no add-ons for nonvisual desktop access for Skype. There are scripts. However forward job access with speech for Windows. I am not currently a developer of add-ons for nonvisual desktop access. I am however a developer of job access with speech for Windows scripts. This is why I recommended a possible script workaround for this problem, because it if is necessary I can assist with the development of said script. This is not to say that I do not advocate for this problem being solved for other screen readers. It is simply saying at this point and time I do not have the capability of solving this problem for the other screen reader users. I also did not bring up window eyes at this time for the same reasons. If there are window eyes users on this list who require a workaround for this problem until such an app can be supplied or Skype fixes the problem. At least it is not shown here. You can check the context menu, and you will find that the options when you're dealing with a Facebook contact are not as numerous as those for a Skype contact. That being said, simply reading the line below the contact wih the jaws or invizable cursor is much more efficient than that of going through the entire context menu. Better yet, if the script for JAWS say next line, And say previous line could get this information and automatically reported when you are going through the Skype contact list. This would be even more efficient.
