Good morning,

I have Windows 8.1 on my laptop on which I have also installed Skype and
Skype Talking without any problems. I have the latest scripts installed.
However, lately something has changed and it is challenging my analytical
processes. I cannot set up the sounds under tools\options so that the
various sounds indicate various actions such as a file has been sent and the
like. What happens is that the first item in the list is checked and Jaws
indicates that it is checked When I tab to the "play sound" it plays without
a problem. However, as I continue down the list none of the others will
indicate that they are checked when I press the spacebar. Nor, will the
sounds play. The sounds and speakers on the computer are working fine as I
do in fact hear the sound when someone is calling me. However, I now hear
the sort of swish sound when colleagues in my group send a message but JAWS
doesn't read it to me and the keystrokes to answer a call do not always work
even though they are checked as keystrokes and the other setting within the
options are set to allow it to work including the inclusion of Skype Talking
in the list of programs which should function with Skype. (my word)

I'm assuming something has changed on my computer which is impacting the
functionality of Skype. Since we use Skype continuously this has become a
bit of a problem for me. Any suggestions as to what to look at, change or
do?

I have repaired JAWS 15.09023 64-bit.
I have run and thus uninstalled and reinstalled the scripts for 6.9 and
later.

Thanks. Joy
