Hello listers,
as in subject, only a day after Sarah's announcement, Skype 5.0 for
iPhone is already available on the App Store. I immediately updated it
and try to see it a bit.
It's not really inaccessible, the heaviest point is that the interface
has drastically changed so we need to get used to the new one. A little
accessibility issue concerns chats (or conversations as you prefer), I
was unable to correct a mistake on the chat window, due in my case to
issues with voice dictation.
A pair of things to mention. At the first sign in, you will find a
video, which is presumably an intro video for the newly released Skype
for iPhone. If you want to jump it, you should double-tap on "video",
then there will appear a button called "jump video", and you should
double-tap again on it. Once you've done that, at the following window
there are two buttons, "Change picture" or "Beginn to use Skype", pfind
the second one and double-tap, and so you're ready to use Skype.
Last but not least, I am afraid they did not fix the issue where you
will be shown as online unless you set your status to offline before
closing Skype from the applications switcher.
