Actually if you know how to read headers you will know how to extract his message, plus, you can always look at the from field of any message he writes and see what the email is.
What you did is thread hijacking, a no no on most if not all list serves. I will let this slide but be more careful about what thread you reply to. This goes for all people including myself. as I'm very guilty of doing this and have taught myself to be careful.
