Another benefit of split screen which I found is that when you are in split
screen mode, it is possible to go into the View menu with Alt plus V, and
uncheck the Skype home page so that it doesn't keep coming up every time you
start Skype.

I'm almost positive that compact view is the same as split screen view.
Split screen is just a new name for compact view. if you think about it,
it makes sense. the split screen is like having all the things on seprit
windows rather than all on one screen and in tabs, hense the name split
screen.

Glad the JAWS scripts for Skype are now working for you! I don't know
whether it's a coincidence that reinstalling Adobe Reader fixed them,
though: I have Adobe Reader installed here but I don't use JAWS so I don't
use the scripts.
As for making Skype chats come up in new windows, now that Compact View
doesn't seem to exist any more, choose Split Screen View in the View menu
instead: that's worked for me. Interesting that Compact View was scrapped
and replaced by Split Screen View, even though they seem to do the same
thing, but I'm not complaining now that I get separate message and call
windows in Skype 6.22 as I used to in older versions!

I remember uninstalling a programme called adobe reader XI. I was told, I
dind't need it to read adobe pdf files.
that's when things started acting strange....but, I didn't put much stock
in
to it...........i got a copy of that programme. but, I didn't think it

matter.
so today, I installed it...and, don't even ask me why...I don't know
how....it started working...scripts and all..I don't get it!.
I just need to figure out how to get the chat windows to pop up.....this

weird!. I'm not drinking, that's for sure!. accept coffee. haha!.
