Skype talking will not work with newer versions of skype you will have to go back to skype 6.1 or earlier to get support for skype talking. Same is true for window-eyes. NV access and ai squared need to start using Microsoft active accessibility to read these alerts etc. That is the long and short of it.

I downloaded it and installed it on my Windows8.1 desktop computer yesterday. I've got all my notifications on Skype setup correctly, like displaying a note in the system tray when someone comes online and goes offline. I've also got the sounds setup. I have authorised SkypeTalking to work with Skype, but when I try to use it its not alerting me at all. Do I need to change anything or do I need to go back to an older Skype.
