Even with all the failings of skype version 7. You have two options i’d say. Firstly, get your friend to uninstall skype and download again. Secondly, take the easy route and revert back to version 6.22 or earlier. The problem with that, though only minor in my opinion, is they will regularly be told updates are available but you simply click on not now.
