Why not use taskkill skype

I was doing the old alt ctrl delete combo to open the task manager but that was very slow at times and took several trys to get it to finally close skype but today I discovered that in windows 7 I could hit the start key and search for task manager and open it from a direct link then just alt e on the line showing skype was running it close it instantly! yay! If any one out there knows a faster way to open task manager please, we who are uninformed, need to hear from you!
