Hi all.
I also notice that some of the sounds don't play, eventhough the right things are checked. The sending file sound doesn't play, and I only know I've received it when the file sent message pops up in the chat window. And, the file doesn't appear in My Received Skype Files until I end the call.

Jerry.

Hello,
Thanks for your reply. Nice to meet you.
Sorry but I even checked with a sighted friend. I am sure they are
checked. It seams there's something wrong with Skype itself.
If I use Skype Talking, I can here all the status changes I want to
here. Maybe because Skype Talking uses Skype API rather than MSAA which
you are using? (Sorry if I am wrong).
Skype... Please fix your issue!

Operating system Windows 10. Using Skype 7.26.0.101 and JAWS version
17.0.2619.400 with JAWS scripts version for Skype 622B, revision 954.
Skype is not notifying me about status changes. E.G. "James is online" or
"James went offline", even if I select the relevant options in
Tools>Options>Notifications. I selected all the "Display a notification in the Windows tray when someone..." check boxes, except the "has a birthday" check box. (even if I also check that one, it have no effect on my problem.) Also, I
am sure my Skype Watch is loaded and working.
Also Skype is not playing sounds for "contact online and "my contact goes
offline". I am sure they are checked in options. I can here all other sounds.
So any idea about this issue?
Thanks.

One other idea: Do you know (via your sighted friend) if the status change alerts are appearing on screen when they should? Since you say the sounds are not playing though the options for those are checked, I suspect you're right and the alerts are also not appearing for some reason. You are of course right that I use MSAA,
and if an alert doesn't appear, there's nothing for my scripts to say. :)

You are right. Yes. They are also not showing on the screen.
Sure I completely understand. Thanks for your support and hard work.

Everything is right. Every check box that need to be checked is checked.
Please try it yourself.

Edmond, I though you were referring to the notifications settings, not sounds ones. For what Doug suggested, verifying if jAWS does not report incorrectly the checkboxes status, I think the safest way is to search for sighted assistance.

Yes, I can confirm you that Dougs scripts use the MSAA and ST Skype API.
Suggestion: on saturday I?ll be home again so if all goes well I?ll be available for remote assistances. In the meantime, please write me at [email protected] and give me your Skype ID.
