O mesmo aqui! O meu usuário está nos grupos cdrom, plugdev e haldeamon.
Até consigo montar um CD com
# mount /dev/hda -t iso9660 /mnt/cdrom
Mas o pendrive não tem jeito, mesmo fazendo na unha com
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# mount /dev/sdb1 -t vfat -o umask=0000 /mnt/dvd/
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb1,
missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~#
Depois da mensagem fiz:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# dmesg | tail

Respondendo à pergunta do Super Mario World, sim, o HAL é inicializado
com o sistema:
Starting HAL daemon: /usr/sbin/hald --daemon=yes
E agora estou quase mais perdido que antes...
Agradeço a ajuda!
