normal aqui (12.2 e current), compilou também sem erros:

using /srv/www/sarg as the WWW Document Root dir

Com certeza está faltando alguma coisa ai no seu Slackware.
Dê uma olhada no log (config.log), lá vai ter detalhes sobre o erro.
