Not interested in HTTP textures, although it is a worthy cause.  I've 
already started too many other things.

I wanted to know whether this was a new route to getting features added. 
   It seems not.  It sounds, rather, like a project to engage those with 
some interest but no current project.  Do I understand this correctly?
