Be warned that NONE of the JDBC/J2EE based stores can be safely used with access control, unless you take care to never set an ACL with more than one ACE. See the discussion of this a few months back as to why (fixing it requires minor db schema changes).

Ahhh. Thanks for reminding me. Could you propose anything of a change. I presume giving the entries some sort of order would do, wouldn't it?

Preserving the order is all you need to do, yes. Another column in that table?

Let's see what Peter's update to ACL draft-12 brings :)

I imagine that nothing at the store level need change - it'll still require the ACE order to be preserved.

That said, the db stores have come a long way - but have, as you've discovered, diverged quite a lot. If someone's interested in building a single, "good" version out of the various db stores, and fixing the ACL problems, we should get that committed somewhere - not having it makes it difficult for 'normal' users to get a working/useful slide installation.

I completely agree and that exactly is my intention. Merge stores into a single version, fixinig the ACL thing (how depends on what Peter has almost finished) and finally commit it.

Great.
