As a binary, this could work, yes. But in source, hard to do. Did some reading and found out a project is not allowed to have more than one CVS module...
?? cocoon has three.

Cocoon is not in Jakarta, I guess.

cocoon has never been managed by jakarta but even in it's xml-days it often felt like part of the jakarta community...

for the history incluned, cocoon started before jakarta was even created and it was part of java.apache.org (that became jakarta.apache.org for copyright reasons). it was never hosted in jakarta nor controlled by the jakarta PMC because we moved it into xml.apache.org (I was part of both PMCs, xml and jakarta, at that time)

I would ask the Jakarta PMC for advice.

this is just IMHO:

i'd say that more than one cvs module is discouraged but not actively prohibited. (several other jakarta sub-projects have more than one CVS module.)

i'd say that the right way to enquire would be to create a proper proposal (so that we can all can understand what slide wants to do and why) and email it to the pmc at jakarta. i an obviously only speak for myself but i can't see any reasons why it shouldn't be approved.

(my own personal dislike is sub-projects which have multiple mailing list.)

I agree with this. having more CVS modules is not a big deal, but having two different lists fragments the community and it's bad practice.

Oliver, I think the PMC would not have a problem with Slide having two different CVS modules.

In the future, we might want to consider asking the board for the creation of the "dav.apache.org" PMC. I would gladly be the sponsoring member for this, in case needed.
