Thanks Erik, you are correct, except that in some implementations the
security is of higher priority than performance. If I take you off the
ACL on a resource, because I own it and I don't want you to see it any
more....that has to be immediate and positive.
Sure. A smart "interceptor" should be able to cause the flushing of things that are invalid when something changes and make that change immediately in effect. By no means was I suggesting that things be stale. I know that me saying "cache the Filter in session scope" caused some red flags - but that is only a performance optimization and by no means necessary nor does it mean that anything would be stale.
