Thanks guys! I am honored to have become part of the team :-) I'll try my very best to become a valuable member of this excellent project. And off course I look forward to working with everybody here.
As a manner of introduction it may be worth telling you a bit about my work and interest in Slide.
As a software developer employed at the Amsterdam-based internet company Hippo I became aware of Slide shortly after its 1.0.16 release. This was at a time we were starting to look for a CMS solution that could serve as a document repository to sites we developed for our clients.
After some time using it though it became apparent that performance not up to our tasks and we finally had to abandon our efforts for lack of time to finish the X-Hive DB based Store implementation when it seemed Slide was attracting less and less activity.
Then off course there was Oliver, with the absolutely brilliant store contribution that made all the difference, Stefano who breathed back a large amount of life into the community and restored my confidence again, and just the fact that Slide has by far the most extensive and robust suppport for WebDAV around.
My focus as a committer will initially be on maintaining the JAAS LoginModule and perhaps integrating it in some sort of out-of-the box distribution. But I am even more interested in ways to improve the overall performance of Slide in 2.1. Another item on my TODO would be cleaning some legacy stuff such as logging and blocking collections.
This is great news! I'll try to assist as much as possible to achieve this. Regards, Daniel
At the very least I hope to inspire good vibes and enthusiasm :-)
Cheers, Unico
