hi oliver

FYI nagoya (where the in question wiki runs) is sun hardware but is maintained by the ASF. so, it isn't really an external link.

AIUI one of the reasons why the ASF is migrating to the new wiki engine (moin-moin, IIRC) is exactly this issue: supervision of the wiki. the new wiki engine will allow the content to be better supervised.

why not consider migrating the slide content into a new slide subproject on the new wiki?

Whoever is responsible for the site has to take care of external links. I have no idea if I would be responsible for this or the ASF. I have posted these questions to the PMC list for clarification.

Hmm, I remember hearing about that. Didn't know it would have these kinds of implications though.
So, does this mean that as a german you personally are subject to that law and so would be liable if you were the one to add it to the site? Or does it mean anyone risks legal prosecution from German authorities were they to do the same? Is ASF the liable party? Is this now official ASF policy?

I had done so, but took it down again for legal issues. We have no control over what is in the Wiki and according to German law you are responsible for the content of pages you link to as well.

I will do so...

I remembered strolling there once but couldn't find it anymore. What do you say about giving a little more exposure by adding a link to it to the website?

I was wondering about a Wiki as well. As an initial step, I have added the docs to the web site. If will put it online now, please post things you want changed to list, ok?

Cheers :)

I've been wanting to put it up on a Wiki somewhere but couldn't find one for Slide. Do you have a Wiki area somewhere? I currently have a slightly modified transcription in Wiki format of that how-to on our company intranet.
