Sure it does; principles are just resources -- they can be created and
manipulated just like any other resource. Admittedly WebDAV ACL says
nothing about *policy* for controlling that, but you certainly don't need a
new HTTP method.
Of course, I might be missing what a 'role' is in Slide; if it's something
distinct from a group (and can't be mapped to groups) then I retract my
statement :-)
