Get the Slide 2.0 server download from
http://jakarta.apache.org/site/binindex.cgi (don't get the Tomcat
bundles).
Follow the instructions at
http://jakarta.apache.org/slide/installation.html for the binary
distribution.
Follow the instructions in the "Enabling or disabling authentication"
section at http://jakarta.apache.org/slide/howto-acl.html .

Now, Slide ships with 4 users (root, john, john2, guest), and 3 roles
(root, user, guest). You'll need to configure Tomcat/JBoss to have those
users with those roles. At a bare minimum you will need a root user that
has the root role. This will depend on the Realm that Tomcat is
configured to use. I don't know how the Tomcat that ships with JBoss is
configured, so you'll need to figure out that part for yourself. There
should be documentation with JBoss describing how to add users/roles.
