This shouldn't be too hard to be programmed. Maybe the version history record can be deleted along with the delete of the resource? Maybe configurable with a switch in Domain.xml?

Would you want to propose a patch for this?

No, our customer requires it. They want to be able to be able to version
control content and view (but not modify) the older revisions. It all works
just as we need it right now except for the fact that the revisions can't be
deleted when the doc is deleted :-)

It does not work. Have you considered to not even put the resources under version control?

Oliver, do you know whether Slide has the capability to delete versions history entries if you want it to? The WebDAV spec indicates that server implementations can choose whether they will or won't permit the historic versions of a file to be deleted. I get an HTTP forbidden code back but was hoping that this was configurable or there was an alternate means of doing it.

Thanks,

Hi,

Is there a Slide configuration option that allows me to delete the versions in a version history for a document? I'm developing a content management system front-ended by Slide and its just not feasible to leave around every revision of every deleted document forever. When I try to delete a version using its URI under the /history folder I get a "forbidden" error back. So how can I clean up the old versions of a file I have deleted? Is there an option I can turn

on that allows me to delete revisions?

To my knowledge I don't have Slide authorization active as I've disabled authentication and set the slide security property in slide.properties to false so this doesn't seem to be a matter of ACEs but I could be wrong.

Thanks,
Warwick
