I don't think performance is going to be the issue here. If your client and
server are on the same machine, the overhead of http will be minimal. The
big advantage that outweighs performance will be the fact that webdav and
deltaV are published APIs and are not bound to change. There is no such
guarantee with the slide API. In fact, if you look at the source, you will
find that the SLIDE apis are not explicity called out. On the performance
front, Slide is very slow due to the very generic architecture. So you will
do well to evaluate exactly what kind of performance you expect.
