how to "chown" from webdav client

How can I change owner of a file from a webdav client. (UI or java API)
 
I understand that I can do a PROPPATCH and modify DAV:owner property on most
webdav servers.
 
however, this does not seem to work with default slide install and the
property remains set to the original value.
 
any configuration that I need to change ?
