The aims of SLP? Well, the "Work In Progress"
page can be found in one of the menu choices of
http://linux.com.sg. Of course, what we want to
do tells little on our philosophy.
In addition to what Chin Qui has said - to provide
a one stop website for all Linux related information
in Singapore -, it also aims to educate the Singapore
public about the philosophy of both Free Software
and Open Source (we are not going to take sides),
and its far-reaching sociological impact.
It will also contain an open source developmental
center for which Singaporeans or anyone for that
matter can utilize the Portal for distribution and development
purposes. Rhandeev is on top of this one at the moment.
It will provide free webhosting for Linux related stuff
too, like Enlightenment Themes etc etc etc.
That is rougly our philosophy. We are also in the process
of moving to a server in 1-Net, which has ultra high
bandwidth. LUGS has graciously agreed to sponsor one
hardisk, which has made our job really easier.
