I have been there.... it's tough.........
What model Proliant?
RedHat 6.1 supports array controller no problems.
The tough part is the embedded SCSI stuff (on the motherboard) It is NCR
Depending on the vintage of the server will depend on the driver needed.
The Ethernet will most probably use the module PCNET32, later models have
Intel Pro100
I just installed 6.1 on a dual processor 5000 with Smart Array with 6 x 18
Gig disks.
FASTEST Intel box I've ever worked on.
I have a Proliant 4500 which has EISA Smart and have been able to get that
going as well.
