I'm sure someone will come to the rescue regarding the network install (and I'll
be listening in with interest).
As far as the scanner goes, you'll need something like SANE (scanner access now
easy) which can be found here:
http://rufus.w3.org/linux/RPM/SByName.html
among other places.
Next, you'll need a driver for the Plustek - try here:
http://www.efn.org/~rick/plustek/
Plustek OpticPro 4830 is the model I have and its covered. Hopefully your model
will be there too.
gimp would also be helpful but you probably already have that.
We've reached the limit of my usefulness since there is a catch - if you're
using RedHat as I am, the driver won't compile nicely out of the box - mostly
path issues in the Makefile. No knowledge of how it compiles under the others.
I'm waiting for a time when I have an 'extra' few minutes (read 'hours') to make
it compile. I'll let you know (offline) if/when I get it going.
