I beg to differ. When looking at various "high-speed" ways of connecting
to the internet early last year, I checked out ISDN adapters (they're not
actually modems) and, without fail, all offered compression. Typically,
the bitrate using compression was about 350kb/s.
Unless the adapters have changed since then, this is still an option
with most adapters. Just make sure your computer can handle the COM
rate if you install an external one though. 115k just won't cut it.
