It's still under warranty (bought it on Monday), but ... I'd like to get it going. The user manual says the battery has to be cycled at least once. I think I've done this a few times now. Although, the user manual says I should fully charge and then unplug the AC Adapter and let it discharge, I'm not sure exactly how it would discharge if I can't turn it on ? The battery charging light turns on . Also, under Windows, the power meter says it's at 5% (it can also read the name and unique ID on the battery, as wel as tell me what type it is) ... and if i keep the battery meter up, this slowly crawls up. I've seen it get to 30% or so before I've shutdown. I guess the percentage is determined by some sort of algorithm that works out how much current can be pushed through the battery. Today I got a little further than usual, when I slid the power switch, one of the lights (activity) actually flashed for half a second or so. So I'm guessing the battery just can't deliver the current to boot the laptop (or keep it on for that matter.) Help me!! :-) >Good luck >John > > > > > > > > Regards, > > Omar Kilani > > Axe Communications > > > > > -- > > SLUG - Sydney Linux Users Group Mailing List - http://www.slug.org.au > > To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with > > unsubscribe in the text -- SLUG - Sydney Linux Users Group Mailing List - http://www.slug.org.au To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe in the text
