Anyone read the other funny "documentation as house-building
material" quote on lwn this week?
SNMP is (from terrible memory) Simple Network Management Protocol,
which you can use for admin of remote machines. Handy stuff like
finding out how hot the processor is, and useless stuff like
finding out if the computer has crashed or not.
Most commonly used to make sysadmins screens look complicated and
terribly hard to read...
I'm sure someone will offer a more complete run-down of why it's
cool for you... :)
