Particularly if you know how to use cron to randomly start and
stop it throughout the day. Make sure you set it as master of

what you really want is a few spare network sockets in hidden
locations as per BOFH {:-)
Says he having done a basic install of Rh6 and said yes to samba
at default {:-) Next day came into to find the machine turned off
and big note not to use this machine. Most arogant NT admin on
the other end of the phone until I started to ask, with shocked
disbelief "but how could it have done that - could you please
explain - well come around and we will sort it out -I've got the
book" {:-).
Seems it had kicked in as master browser or something that
evening and refused to relinquish it. {:-) I understand it took
them six hours to locate it, which they did by isolating each
floor of the building for 30 minutes, then each quarter of the
floor for 30 minutes, then each row of sockets, etc. Very
sophisticated.
