Extremely smooth for me.
Boss paid for conference, so rego was upstairs in the conference area.
Having the card then meant I just walked to the "gatekeeper", and got
straight in each time.
I think it very much depended on the time of the day as to whether you got
crowded or not.
I thought the Open Source Expo section was wonderful. I'm interested in
hardware so I was pleased to see all the midrange servers and stuff in the
OS section of the expo.
Some of the exhibitors were also surprised at the number of hardware
enquiries they got.
There's an interesting tape jukebox/robot just to the West of the OS Expo
area that could excite a few people.
Nice to see Linux on SGI's wide LCD screens. Much better res. than some of
the other manufacturers'displays but then the price tag wasn't exactly
visible...
Terry's cameras provided much amusement to all and sundry. Definitely an
eyecatcher!
A good crowd was milling around the Debian and Everything Linux stands.
Once through to the IT2000 show, I didn't see anything substantially
different from last year's PC/IT show (apart from a huge blow up cow) but
then I was trying to do that bit in 15 minutes before the next interesting
talk!
