I would - and I will.
Walking, cycling and public transport are great options - but often
they're simply not adequate.
I live a hour's drive from Sydney, and 20 minutes walk from the train
station.
The trains are 1) irregular and 2) unreliable for anything but regular,
moderated by the exact tick of the clock commuting.
If you want to do something on the spur of the moment - forget it.
I do believe the petrol boycot is aimed at the wrong people - it's the
_governments_ who make fuel so expensive, not entirely the companies. [1]
However, I'll be doing the boycot thing {if I remember! :-)}.

[1] Investigate just how much of the current 90 cent a litre price of
petrol goes _straight_ to either the federal or state governments. Hint -
it's better than 50%.
