Hi all,
I get problems sometimes with my PPP dial ups under RedHat 6.1 which some of
you may have seen or heard of.
I have 5 clients which I dial via PPP on multiple modems on my 8 port
stallion card .
I have rewritten the original RedHat scripts to handle a 'next available
modem' option so PPP won't try to pick up a modem which is in use by a CU
which my programmer use. But I don't think this is an issue as I think the
problem happens on any modem (just thought you may need to know this).
PROBLEM:
What happens is we could be in the middle of doing something on the link and
then the link drops out suddenly and all I get in the logs is..
May 10 14:02:05 citadel2k pppd[27211]: Hangup (SIGHUP)
May 10 14:02:05 citadel2k pppd[27211]: Modem hangup
May 10 14:02:05 citadel2k pppd[27211]: Connection terminated.
May 10 14:02:05 citadel2k pppd[27211]: Connect time 87.1 minutes.
Now I thought that a SIGHUP is PPP telling the modem to hang up right? If
so, why is it doing this and how can I stop it..
Is it a modem problem or something?
I have tried using /etc/options with and without the "crtscts" option.
Any ideas?
