Do you remember which security level you set during the install? AFAIK
setting the highest level of security in Mandrake 7.1 basically disables
any connections - even from localhost - so telnet and ftp won't work
even if you've got them running. You can probably check this in DrakConf
- setting it to 'Medium' seems best for most things.
